T’ABBE SS27: Where Memory Becomes a Wardrobe

Presented at Serendipity3 during New York Fashion Week, Talia Abbe’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection explores inheritance, emotional expression, and the lasting power of what we create.

Inherited Ideas, Reimagined

For Spring/Summer 2027, New York-based womenswear label T’ABBE turns inward, exploring the memories, gestures, and creative instincts passed from one generation to the next.

Presented at Serendipity3 during New York Fashion Week, the collection places deeply personal references within a setting known for nostalgia, fantasy, and indulgence. Across 19 looks, designer Talia Abbe brings together fluid ready-to-wear, refined separates, exaggerated volumes, custom textiles, and the inflatable latex elements that have become part of the brand’s visual language.

The result is a wardrobe shaped by contrasts: ease and exaggeration, vulnerability and protection, everyday dressing and the desire to escape.

A Family Archive

The collection began with Abbe’s exploration of photographs, objects, and creative work belonging to the women in her family. Among the discoveries were vintage sketches by her grandmother for a raincoat she had once imagined creating.

Rather than reproducing the design literally, Abbe reinterpreted it through T’ABBE’s contemporary vocabulary. The gesture becomes less an exercise in nostalgia than a reflection on inheritance—how an idea can move through time, finding new meaning in another generation.

That relationship between past and present is expressed through shifting proportions, playful silhouettes, and garments that balance familiarity with the unexpected.

A Confectionary Palette

Primrose pink, deep wine, lemon meringue, and powder blue bring a soft, almost confectionary quality to the collection. The colors temper the more exaggerated shapes, creating a tension between sweetness and structure.

Refined separates offer a sense of ease, while amplified volumes and custom textile treatments introduce theatricality. Together, the pieces reflect T’ABBE’s interest in clothing as both an everyday experience and a form of emotional transformation.

Fashion and Mental Wellness

T’ABBE’s ongoing collaboration with Bring Change to Mind, the national nonprofit dedicated to ending mental health stigma through youth advocacy, continues into the Spring/Summer 2027 collection.

Following a nationwide competition inviting students to create artwork around self-expression and mental wellness, the selected design was developed into a custom print and incorporated into the collection.

The collaboration introduces the perspective of a young artist into T’ABBE’s visual language, creating a conversation between personal history and a new generation of creative expression.

“This collection feels particularly personal because it brings together different generations and different ways of expressing ourselves,” says Talia Abbe, founder and designer of T’ABBE. “I was able to look at something my grandmother imagined creating and reconsider it through my own perspective, while also bringing the work of a young artist into the collection through Bring Change to Mind.”

Serendipity3 as Setting

The presentation’s location added another layer to the collection’s exploration of memory and imagination.

Serendipity3, a New York institution associated with fantasy, nostalgia, and unapologetic excess, provided a heightened backdrop for Abbe’s playful interventions and more intimate references. Within the space, the collection’s exaggerated proportions could exist alongside the quieter emotional story at its center.

Clothing as Emotional Expression

At the heart of T’ABBE Spring/Summer 2027 is the idea that clothing can carry more than its immediate function. A garment can hold a memory, offer protection, build confidence, or create an opportunity for escape.

For Abbe, the past is not something to preserve unchanged. It is something to reinterpret. Through family archives, youthful creativity, and the expressive possibilities of dress, T’ABBE presents a collection where inherited ideas and new perspectives coexist.
