Concept Korea Spring/Summer 2027: Korean Fashion Meets Cinema at Palais de Tokyo

BONBOM and ASPARAGUS present contrasting visions of Korean fashion through a joint runway, fashion film, and a programme connecting fashion with cinema.

PARIS — October 1, 2026 — Concept Korea presented its Spring/Summer 2027 edition at Palais de Tokyo, bringing together fashion and cinema through a joint runway by Korean labels BONBOM and ASPARAGUS.

Hosted by South Korea’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) and organized by the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), the programme welcomed fashion professionals, press, and audiences for an expanded presentation of Korean fashion.

Building on Concept Korea’s previous collaborations with dance, music, and other art forms, SS27 returned to cinema. Following its fashion film project at New York Fashion Week in 2022, this edition connected the screen and runway through a shared narrative.

BONBOM: Optimistic Fetishism

BONBOM explores “Optimistic Fetishism,” approaching obsession and desire through a brighter, humorous, and deliberately exaggerated lens.

The collection centers on silhouette. Garments appear slender and sharply defined from the front, while unexpected volume emerges from the side, challenging perceptions of the body and clothing.

This sculptural approach extends into the styling, including exaggerated hairstyles that emphasize the sides of the head.

Knitwear is another key focus. Loosely constructed, sheer knits resembling mesh create a “Second Skin,” allowing the body and air to remain visible through open structures.

Traditionally associated with warmth and protection, knitwear becomes light and exposed for summer. The tension between covering and revealing reflects the collection’s broader fascination with reversal and unexpected perspectives.

ASPARAGUS: Practical Poet

ASPARAGUS presents “PRACTICAL POET,” exploring the space between masculinity and femininity, structure and softness, protection and exposure.

Rather than seeking perfect balance, the collection finds beauty in sustaining contradiction. Garments, bodies, styling, sound, and performance become one system held in a delicate state of tension.

How to Walk

Ahead of the runway, Concept Korea premiered How to Walk at Madame Cinéma, the cinema inside Palais de Tokyo.

Directed by Ock-seop Yi and starring actress Minha Kim and model Taejun Hong, the fashion film interprets the seasonal concepts of BONBOM and ASPARAGUS through Yi’s distinctive visual storytelling.

The screening offered press, fashion professionals, and audiences a cinematic introduction to the two brands before their collections appeared on the runway.

MONSTA X Ambassadors Attend

Concept Korea ambassadors SHOWNU and HYUNGWON of MONSTA X attended wearing looks from BONBOM and ASPARAGUS, further connecting the programme to Korea’s wider fashion, music, and entertainment landscape.

Through Concept Korea, KOCCA continues to support Korean designer brands through international fashion weeks and global platforms, while expanding connections between Korean fashion, film, music, and other cultural content.

At Palais de Tokyo, the SS27 edition demonstrated how Korean fashion can extend beyond the runway into cinema, performance, sound, and the wider cultural worlds surrounding contemporary design.
