Story Wear SS27: A Love Revolution from Taiwan to New York
Presented at Ideal Glass Studios during New York Fashion Week, Story Wear’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection transformed circular fashion into an immersive celebration of Taiwanese culture, craftsmanship, and community.
A Story of Taiwan
On Monday, September 14, Story Wear brought its Spring/Summer 2027 collection, “LOVE REVOLUTION: A Story of Taiwan,” to New York Fashion Week for the first time.
Following presentations at Taipei Fashion Week and Rakuten Fashion Week TOKYO, the Taiwanese sustainable fashion brand transformed Ideal Glass Studios into a multi-sensory exhibition where fashion, art, music, and storytelling converged.
Rather than a traditional runway, the presentation unfolded as an immersive journey, inviting guests to experience a slower and more intentional approach to fashion.
Circular Design, Reimagined
Across 30 looks and more than 70 handcrafted garments, accessories, and wearable artworks, Story Wear explored the possibilities of circular design through the lens of Taiwanese creativity and cultural identity.
The collection reflects the brand’s belief that fashion can preserve culture, foster human connection, and inspire positive change. Discarded textiles become the foundation for contemporary pieces, demonstrating how materials with a previous life can be transformed into something expressive and new.
The presentation’s exhibition-like format allowed the garments to exist not only as clothing, but as part of a larger story about making, memory, and collective responsibility.
Fashion with Social Purpose
Founded in Taiwan in 2018, Story Wear is an award-winning sustainable fashion brand and social enterprise dedicated to transforming discarded textiles into contemporary fashion.
Its work extends beyond environmental impact. In collaboration with local artisans, second-career women, disability advocacy groups, and community partners, the brand connects circular design with social inclusion.
This approach places people and process at the center of the collection, highlighting the value of skilled hands, shared knowledge, and community-led creativity.
Love as a Creative Force
With “LOVE REVOLUTION,” Story Wear presented sustainability not as a limitation, but as a creative and cultural opportunity.
The New York presentation introduced international audiences to a vision of fashion that is tactile, thoughtful, and deeply connected to place. Through handcrafted design, wearable art, and storytelling, the brand offered a perspective in which clothing becomes a vehicle for preserving heritage while imagining a more inclusive future.
Story Wear’s SS27 collection ultimately positioned love as an active force—expressed through materials, craftsmanship, community, and the decision to create with greater intention.
