On September 11, Negris LeBrum presented Collection Negris, its Spring/Summer 2027 line, on the rooftop of Rockefeller Center. Against the New York City skyline, the show brought together western-luxury codes, Louisiana heritage, and a deeply personal love story.

The collection’s presentation coincided with 9/11, creating a poignant setting for a runway described by designer Travis Hamilton as a love letter to Negris LeBrum, Louisiana, and New York.

Louisiana in Every Stitch

The collection’s color story centers on rich burnt orange, inspired by the red clay hills of northwest Louisiana and Hamilton’s upbringing there. The shade gives the collection a sense of place, grounding its luxury in culture and memory rather than seasonal trend.

A signature western belt buckle returns throughout the line, while gold embellished trimmings add a sense of ceremony. Jewelry created in collaboration with gospel icon Yolanda Adams was paired with each look, completing the collection’s polished western aesthetic.

Tailoring Meets Eveningwear

Moving between structured tailoring and fluid eveningwear, the collection is built from brocade, lace, and silk chiffon.

A floor-length pleated gown in burnt orange, finished with a sculpted gold clasp at the neckline, closed the tailoring portion of the show and served as its emotional centerpiece. Elsewhere, a marbled brocade suit in swirling copper and gold brought a time-warped quality to the runway, suggesting a wardrobe that moves freely across decades.

The silhouettes balance refinement with drama, carrying the brand’s romantic sensibility into a contemporary New York setting.

Music played a central role in the presentation. Written and arranged by Travis Hamilton with the help of AI, the original score traced two love stories at once.

On the surface, it followed the enduring romance of Negris LeBrum. Beneath that narrative, Hamilton’s own heartbreak within the fashion industry became part of the music.

“Music is very important, it helps set the stage,” Hamilton explains. “While the runway carried on the love story of Negris LeBrum, the music was also carrying my own story—the heartbreak that comes with loving an industry as demanding as fashion.”

An 86-Year Love Story

Founded in 1999 by Travis Hamilton while he was a student at Texas Southern University, Negris LeBrum carries forward a love story rooted in Louisiana culture and heritage that began in 1940.

The brand’s collections continue to tell the story of its namesake through themes of passion, devotion, and heartbreak. For Spring/Summer 2027, that history found a new setting above New York City, where western references, ornate detailing, and emotional storytelling came together in one runway moment.

“This collection is a love letter, to Negris LeBrum, to Louisiana, and to New York,” says Hamilton. “Eighty-six years of this story live in every stitch, and today it found its home on a rooftop overlooking the city that gave fashion its stage.”
