Levi’s® x Christelle Kocher Brings American Denim Into the World of Haute Couture

Levi’s® and Christelle Kocher debut a 10-look couture denim capsule during Paris Haute Couture Week, blending American heritage with French craftsmanship.

As Paris Haute Couture Week continues to redefine the boundaries of contemporary luxury, Levi’s® has entered an entirely new chapter through an ambitious collaboration with acclaimed French designer Christelle Kocher. Presented in Paris this July, the exclusive Levi’s® by Christelle Kocher capsule introduces ten couture-inspired silhouettes that transform one of fashion’s most recognizable materials into works of artisanal craftsmanship.

Known for her philosophy of Couture-à-Porter and her role as Artistic Director of Maison Lemarié, Christelle Kocher reimagines Levi’s® heritage through the meticulous techniques of French haute couture. The collection elevates iconic Levi’s® staples—including the legendary 501® jean and the Type II Trucker Jacket—into sculptural garments that celebrate both innovation and craftsmanship.

Built entirely around denim as its foundational material, the capsule explores the fabric through intricate pleating, featherwork, floral compositions, lace appliqués, resin-coated denim fragments, and leather embroidery. The result is a striking dialogue between the authenticity of American workwear and the refinement of Parisian couture.

“It was a privilege to bring two teams together to create this collection. This capsule reflects my life between the United States and France, two countries that continuously fuel my creative energy,” said designer Christelle Kocher.

Throughout the collection, silhouettes shift effortlessly between architectural structure and fluid movement. Layered denim pleats form abstract floral bustiers, while cascading feather capes create dramatic volume and motion. Evening-ready denim separates are elevated through couture embroidery, demonstrating how traditional craftsmanship can redefine familiar garments.

One of the collection’s standout creations is a fully feathered gown paired with a matching cape that blends denim, lace, and resin into textures inspired by fish scales. Accessories continue the narrative with a reimagined Levi’s® Baby Brooklyn bag alongside oversized feather headpieces designed to amplify movement and theatrical expression.

Levi’s® views the collaboration as a milestone for the brand’s evolution within European luxury fashion.

“Introducing Levi’s® into the world of Paris Haute Couture for the first time marks an important milestone for our brand,” said Mathilde Vaucheret, Vice President of Marketing Europe. “Christelle Kocher brings a distinctly Parisian, contemporary vision that naturally complements our denim heritage while showcasing the extraordinary artisanal potential of the fabric.”

Photographed by Kayla Connors, the accompanying campaign balances cinematic storytelling with an intimate perspective, highlighting both the raw authenticity of denim and the painstaking craftsmanship behind every garment. The imagery showcases months of textile experimentation, including exclusive denim dye developments created at Levi’s® Eureka Lab in San Francisco.

Beyond its visual impact, the capsule demonstrates denim’s ability to transcend its utilitarian origins without losing its cultural identity. Presented during Haute Couture Week, the collaboration reinforces Levi’s® commitment to innovation while illustrating how one of fashion’s most universal textiles can be elevated to couture standards suitable for red carpets, stage performances, and cultural milestones.

With Levi’s® by Christelle Kocher, American denim heritage and French couture craftsmanship converge in a collection that celebrates creativity without boundaries, proving that innovation often begins by reimagining the classics.
