Presented during New York Bridal Fashion Week, Floresta brings botanical artistry, feminine silhouettes, and Colombian handwork into a couture vision of the modern bridal wardrobe.
For Fall 2027, Colombian designer Francesca Miranda returned to New York Bridal Fashion Week with Floresta, a collection that extends beyond the ceremony gown to encompass second looks and designs for the many moments surrounding a wedding. Rooted in femininity and intricate craftsmanship, the collection takes inspiration from the natural world, with flowers serving as its defining language.
Blooms unfold across the collection in varying scales, shapes, and volumes, appearing through embroidery, appliqué, layered textures, and sculptural handwork. From the bridal gown to the second dress, each look offers a distinct interpretation of the same imagined garden, translating botanical forms into couture.
The garden extends beyond the garments themselves. In collaboration with Artesanías del Atlántico, artisans from Colombia’s Atlántico region created monumental handcrafted flowers that transformed the presentation space in New York into an immersive botanical setting. The installation echoed the floral motifs found throughout the collection, creating a dialogue between artisanal objects and couture worn on the body.
At the heart of Floresta is a commitment to the women behind the work. The installation was made by women artisans, including mothers who are heads of their households, establishing a meaningful connection with the women working inside Miranda’s own atelier. Every piece in the collection is conceived and crafted in Barranquilla, Colombia, where embroidery, appliqué, construction, and finishing reflect generations of skill and the dedication of the hands bringing each design to life.
This shared emphasis on craftsmanship connects two expressions of Colombian creativity: handcrafted objects and bridal couture, both deeply rooted in the same region. The experience was completed by a musical curation and mix from Colombian artist and entrepreneur Martín Gutiérrez, bringing fashion, craft, and sound together in a celebration of the creative identity of Colombia’s Caribbean coast.
With more than two decades in the industry, Francesca Miranda has built a distinctive design language around material exploration, hand-embroidery, hand-painting, and the considered layering of textures. Born in El Salvador and based in Barranquilla for more than three decades, the designer draws on her Latin American influences to shape a vision of femininity that balances timeless elegance with contemporary artistry.
With Floresta, Miranda presents bridal couture as more than a vision of the wedding day. It becomes a celebration of place, women’s creativity, and the enduring value of work made by hand.
Made by hand. Made in Barranquilla.
