At Arlo Midtown during New York Fashion Week, historical grandeur meets modern city energy in a collection celebrating craftsmanship and individuality.
Victor dE Souza presented Spring/Summer 2027 as a meeting of Victorian and Edwardian romance, Tartarian-inspired grandeur and contemporary New York. Rather than recreate the past, the designer reimagined historical references through exaggerated silhouettes, unexpected materials and theatrical craftsmanship.
Brocade, hand embroidery, corset flossing and structured tailoring brought traditional techniques into a modern context, while each look emphasized personality and self-expression.
The runway featured Nicole Ari Parker, Veronica Webb, Tracy Norman and Maya Valasquez, alongside guests from fashion, music and New York culture, including Jean Shafiroff, Michael Musto and Lion Babe.
Drawing inspiration from Manhattan’s theater, nightlife, street style and old-world glamour, dE Souza created a wardrobe balancing historical elegance with urban energy. The collection’s underlying message was one of optimism: fashion’s future need not abandon its past, but transform it.
Supported by Emanuel New York, Arlo Hotel and The Elemental Perfume, the presentation showcased dE Souza’s signature blend of couture craftsmanship, sculptural design and individuality. The collection is available exclusively through Emanuel New York.
With Spring/Summer 2027, dE Souza turns history into a canvas for reinvention, creating fashion that feels theatrical, personal and distinctly contemporary.
