VERDAVAINNE: Spring 2027 NYFW Runway
New York Fashion Week set the stage for another striking presentation from VERDAVAINNE, the luxury womenswear label founded by designer Cyril Verdavainne. Set against the grandeur of Cipriani Wall Street, the collection came to life inside the landmark’s private restaurant before extending onto its expansive balcony, framed by iconic granite columns. The setting provided a dramatic backdrop for a collection defined by bold color, distinctive prints, and confident silhouettes.
For the new season, VERDAVAINNE continued to explore its signature language of print, color, and sculptural form, introducing fresh interpretations of the house’s distinctive aesthetic. The collection moved effortlessly between statement-making looks and refined, sophisticated silhouettes, balancing drama with the effortless glamour that has become synonymous with the brand.
From there, the collection moved into VERDAVAINNE's signature terrain: original hand-painted florals rendered at dramatic proportions. A high-low gown in golden yellow, splashed with oversized blue florals, cut a fresh silhouette with its front slit and back train, while a multicolor floral ball skirt, anchored by a crisp white pleated halter bodice and finished with a coordinating floral top-handle bag, brought painterly romance to a voluminous silhouette. Chartreuse corded lace layered over a lilac ground offered a graphic counterpoint, its sculptural robe trailing the length of the gown. The show closed as it began, in red, with a one-shouldered taffeta ballgown, its one-shoulder bodice gathered into soft ruching above a sweeping, voluminous skirt. This collection showcased the house's mastery of print, color, and silhouette.
In his own words, Cyril Verdavainne explains what drives his work and defines his latest collection: "This collection is about a woman in full bloom, confident in color, at ease in her own silhouette. I wanted every print to feel like it was painted just for her and every waist to feel like it was cinched by hand. That's the difference between a dress and a VERDAVAINNE."
