Vietnamese couture house PHAN HUY presents its Fall/Winter 2026–2027 Couture collection as a meditation on perception, precision, and the quiet power of craftsmanship. Rather than relying on theatrical excess, designer Phan Huy explores the poetic space between what is seen clearly and what remains beautifully obscured, translating this idea into a collection defined by sculptural construction and exceptional technical artistry.
Inspired by the designer’s own experience of viewing the world through his glasses, the collection reflects the fleeting beauty found in blurred vision. Mist gathering on a lens, refracted light, and the instant when indistinct forms come into focus become the conceptual foundation for garments that exist between softness and structure. This intimate perspective transforms everyday visual experiences into a sophisticated couture narrative.
The collection marks a notable evolution for the maison. While previous seasons highlighted intricate embellishment and romantic femininity, Fall/Winter 2026–2027 shifts its attention toward architectural silhouettes and meticulous tailoring. Each look is engineered with four to five internal structural layers, allowing dramatic sculptural forms to maintain graceful movement. Among the collection’s most remarkable technical achievements is the elimination of nearly all traditional darts from non-stretch fabrics, a feat requiring extraordinary expertise in pattern making and garment construction.
Luxury natural textiles—including silk taffeta, silk satin, crepe, signature mesh, and delicate tulle—provide the foundation for the collection’s balance of strength and lightness. Throughout the garments, handcrafted embellishments create visual illusions that echo the collection’s central theme. Resin droplets resemble morning dew resting on glass, while shimmering embroidery captures the fleeting brilliance of refracted light, allowing surfaces to transition effortlessly between blurred softness and sharp definition.
The craftsmanship behind every piece reflects hundreds of hours of artisanal work. Feathers are individually cut, shaped, and arranged by hand to recreate the ethereal appearance of drifting mist, while thousands of UV-formed resin droplets are meticulously applied to each garment. One of the collection’s standout creations features an intricate sculptural hip detail entirely hand-crocheted from micro beads before receiving additional hand embellishment. Combined with translucent resin elements, the piece evokes the delicate image of dew suspended upon a polished sculpture.
